i finished my bag two nights ago while having a (quite long) phone conversation with Leigh-Ann. it was lots of fun to stitch, but my fingers were a little sore when i was done. :) i think i love stitching with yarn even more than traditional embroidery... more experimenting to do! & maybe even mixing the two? yes. i'll be carrying this bag for a long time, i love it so much!
here's a detail shot...
the design was inspired by the always classy Orla Kiely.
i'll post more later, but i couldn't wait to share these photos!
hope your day is lovely!!! :) elsie

This gives me some ideas! Thanks! (Just found your blog)

Hi Heather :)
That's so sweet of you, you made me blush! But Freckled Nest keeps me so busy, I wouldn't make a very good RVA girl ;) I'm happy to just be friends with the girls, support them and help out from time to time :)
Hugs,
LA :)

great job! i'm itchin' to get thriftin' for a bag to stitch, too.
was wondering what the inside of the bag looked like. do you just knot the yarn and leave it or tape over it, or what?

I totally stole your idea and stitched onto my new vintage carry on. We're going to Scandinavia next week and my bag needed some cut-i-fication before we leave! Take a look if you want...
