i found this living room in one of our vintage Better Homes & Gardens magazines. it's beyond perfect. I love the color story! What are your favorite inspiration sources for home decor?
Emma and I are spending the afternoon finishing details and organizing to send out all the private login info to new e-course students. If you signed up, expect an e-mail from us later this evening! And if you haven't seen the new course yet, it's for bloggers! Take a peek. XXO! elsie

I love looking in children's stores for home accessories. I love the uninhibited use of color that kid's rooms have, and I always find inspiration in their decor.

That's such a fun room! I love to decorate with black and white. And anything Audrey Hepburn. :)

Definitely vintage Better Home & Gardens! My school library has the entire back catalogs hidden on their shelves. I have been known to get lost in it for hours!

That is an awesome picture! I would have never guessed it was a vintage pic - its crazy how trends come, and go, then come right back around again! I love the colors!

the only thing that would make it better is if that dining room were covered with polaroid shots of good times you and your family and friends shared together (I actually thought that's what it was but realized that a polaroid wasn't so cool and hip back then...)

Love this! My inspiration for home decor is a little bit of antique and a little bit of dreamy all thrown together.

These colors are similar to what I have in my home I really love the colors of the 70s burnt orange, avocado, and harvest gold mixed with shades of chocolate and cream! Most people are not fond of these colors (i.e. anything on HGTV) but I have found that makes it much easier to shop for things for my home :) I love vintage interiors please share more that you enjoy!

i love the mix of colors of the throw pillows. i honestly don't look at home decor at all - i just find pieces that i like and build around that (like antique school maps, library cabinets, and children's chalkboards).

I really like Frank Llyod Wright's stuff, especially this (the interior pictures are towards the bottom of the post):
