My aunt surprised me with a bunch of amazing colorful Sephora makeup for Christmas this year. I tend to shy away from colored makeup and stick with black mascara and shades of bronze and white eyeshadow, so for this weeks 'Red Velvet Gets Fancy' styling how-to I decided to experiment with color! I used 3 shades of plum, purple and pale pink eye shadow with purple eye liner and Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Plum Mascara
Try a new color scheme this week! I'm planning to try a new hairstyle too. Change is good and I love taking advantage of the winter months for experiments in styling. Happy Monday! Elsie

So Pretty :)

Cant really see much makeup detail, if any at all. Do a close up!

Purple is one of my favorite shades of eyeshadow, I think it really makes brown eyes pop.

Looks great! I always play it safe with make-up too so maybe I should try some fun colors :-)

I am a big fan of plum eye make up. It certainly is my go to color since it really blends in with my complexion. You are so good a make up lady! I just started wearing make up and have a lot to learn. Thanks!

Lol... Pro photographers aren't necessary! Just use macro :) Looks like the lighting is good enough for it!

What kind of hair?!
My hair is just getting long enough to start experimenting with....only now that it's winter, my options are limited: if it's too cold (and it usually is), a toque becomes a must, and ruins/flattens all attempts at making my hair pretty.

I was in a rut of NOT wearing makeup at all. (I had been depressed and dealing with grown up stuff, and I didn't care about how I looked at all.) Now that I'm feeling better, I've been trying to wear at least a little bit of makeup every day. Today might be my "plum" day. I've done a lot of green and gold lately. :)
Does the plum mascara show up on dark lashes? Mine are black.

I usually stick with neutrals, too. I think I'll go green & yellow tomorrow.

This color pallet looks fab with your skin tone. :) And that's my professional makeup artist opinion!
