My old hamper was a bit dull for my taste so I gave it a face lift without spending a dime. I used spray paint and duct tape that I had on hand to turn this drab woven basket into something much more exciting!
Supplies Needed: Large straw basket, spray paint, duct tape. 1. Tape off your negative space. If you're doing stripes I suggest an odd number such as three or five. Press your tape edges down to make sure your paint doesn't blur or leak.
2. Spray paint two thin coats according to manugacturer's instructions. 3. Let your paint dry before removing your tape.
Use your large straw basket to corral umbrellas, rolls of wrapping paper, or toys. Enjoy! -Rachel

that's a great DIY! thanks for sharing, Rachel!

I've been wanting to do this to my own hamper for a while now - It's the perfect face lift that adds a little something special to the situation :)

Beautiful and easy. Sadly, I love my hamper just as it is :)
I may try this technique with a beach bag, though!
As allways, THANK YOU FOR SHARING! :D

Nice idea! I would have used a brighter colour though I'm not sure I like the black. It would look super cute with the pastel trend that's hot at the moment, maybe a minty colour or a peach :)

Always great how even something as simple as a coat of paint can add a little pizzazz to an otherwise typical item. Love it!
