DONUTS!!!!!!!! It's exciting. I adore donuts, they are such a fun breakfast treat. But they can be a little difficult and time consuming to make from scratch. An easy alternative is biscuit donuts. What are biscuit donuts, you ask? Well... uh... they're, like, donuts made from store-bought biscuits. Here's how to make your own biscuit donuts with homemade chocolate glaze.
To make the donuts you will need 1-2 canisters of biscuits and enough oil to fill a pot so the donuts can float when frying. The amount of oil can vary greatly depending on your pot. I usually use vegetable or canola oil when frying.
Use a small biscuit cutter or the top of small bottle or lid to cut holes in each biscuit. You can discard these or make donutholes from them. Guess which I do... yep, donut holes (you know me!). Fry the donuts in oil that is around 350 F. If you don't have a candy thermometer then you can test your oil by using the donut holes. You want the donut to fry in the oil for 2-3 minutes on each side so that it is cook through but not burnt. As you fry your donuts remove to a plate or tray lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.
Homemade chocolate glaze, makes about 2 1/2 cups. Recipe adapted from here.
Needed: 1/2 cup butter, 1/4 cup whole milk, 2 tablespoons light corn syrup, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 3 1/2 ounces dark chocolate and 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar.
In a small pot over medium heat combine the butter and milk. Stir until melted, then add the corn syrup, vanilla extract and chopped dark chocolate. Stir until completely melted then remove from heat. Whisk in powdered sugar 1/2 cup at a time. Dunk donuts in glaze, add sprinkles if you must.
Enjoy these with coffee or milk and impress your family with these super easy donuts! xo. Emma

Oh they look so pretty and delicious!
I love doughnuts, and I used to eat one or two when some friends and I went to a local doughnuts shop. There were many doughnuts shops in Japan, and I miss all the delicious doughnuts.
I must try biscuit doughnuts!

My mom used to make these for me and my brothers as kids. They are delicious beyond description fresh out of the oil! I've gotta stay clear of this recipe though, I am quarter aged and the donuts would adversely affect the waistline ;) Can't stop at one! It's impossible.
