I'm trying to remember the first time I tried a caramel apple martini. I think it was at my 25th birthday party. I had a sip of Rachel's and then promptly got my own. And that's partly why, to me, caramel apple martinis are a party drink. Now I wouldn't judge you if I showed up at your house on a Tuesday night and you were reading a fantasy novel and drinking a caramel apple martini. That's cool man. No judgment from me. But I think most often these come in handy as a fun and girly party drink. Plus, they are super easy to make. The perfect party trick for this season!
I tried a couple recipes I found online and most seem to suggest a 2:2:1 ratio of sour apple schnapps, butterscotch schnapps and gin or vodka. Since I like to add caramel to the glass before serving I adjust this ratio slightly. Here's my favorite recipe.
Caramel Apple Martini, makes two.
Needed: 6 ounces sour apple schnapps, 4.5 ounces butterscotch schnapps, 3 ounces gin (or vodka), 1-2 tablespoons caramel, sour apple slices + cinnamon and sugar for garnish.
In a martini shaker or mason jar combine half the ingredients with ice, shake and strain into a prepared glass. Repeat for the second. I used caramel sauce (think Hershey's or Smucker's) for the inside of the glasses. Just drizzle it in before pouring the drink. For garnish I thinly sliced an apple and dipped it in cinnamon/sugar. You don't need to coat the apple slice too thickly with the sugar as some of it will settle in the bottom of your martini if you do. Just FYI.
Make some festive drinks this season and enjoy time with friends and family. xo. Emma

Oh my god this is life altering- I would eat caramel on anything- half tempted to put it on my dinner sometimes, Elf style. Also I will use any excuse to break out my martini glasses- birthday, holidays, wednesdays, when asos have a sale- you know, important celebrations.

Oh. My. Yum. Apples + booze = heaven.
On a side note, I love how I can always tell if it's an Emma post from the first paragraph, no matter what the subject.
You've got such a fun tone to your posts!

This looks and sounds AMAZING. I know I have tried an apple pie shot before, so I assume this is along the same line. Plus, I am not much of shots person anymore, so a nice calm martini (AND MAYBE A FANTASY NOVEL) will work just fine! ;)Thanks Emma!

I think that apple martinis sort of got a bad rap in the past few years. I don't know why. They are delicious, especially one with caramel and the "apple" makes it seem almost healthy, like a smoothie! Ha.

These look amazing, especially with the caramel drizzle swirled around the sides. Perfect fall drink, besides a pumpkin spice latte of course! The crumbled kraft paper is a great photographers touch.
