I am loving the early fall vibes! It's got me in the mood to make some purchases. I am on the look out for some closed-toe shoes. I, apparently, spent the whole summer wearing and buying nothing but sandals. I'm trying to find some options that will keep my toes warm but will go well with both skirts and jeans. I'm also seriously considering learning to can this autumn. Seems like such a cool skill! What is at the top of your wishlist this month? xo. Emma

The FRENCH PRESS!! Eeeep- I die.

That's my fav canning book! It's wonderful! The recipes take longer and are a bit messier but are totally worth the outcome. Less sugar and no pectin. Hooray canning!

Ohh I can with my mom and grandma every year! We do tomatoes and I live on an apple orchard, so we do a ton of apples. And apple cider!(:

Uh, that French Press is Ah-mazing! And canning is an amazing skill to have, a bit of a science, but well worth the effort! Can't wait to see you document the process!!! :)

You should definitely learn to can! My grandma used to can all the time and when she passed away my dad gave me all her canning equipment. I taught myself how to do it using all her stuff as a way to feel connected to her. It really takes you to another time. I love it! Good luck!

Canning is very fun, especially if you grow your own veggies and want to preserve them. its a good skill to have, but not all recipes are created equally, make sure the ones you use are up to date, and follow recipes to the T! my favorite book is Put Em' Up, by Sherri Brooks Vinton. I have also been slaving away for several weeks making this jam http://www.foodinjars.com/2010/09/tomato-jam/
it is amazing! I will be handing them out as wedding favors at my wedding next month!!! happy canning!-Jess
