Well, hello there! Aimee here, and I am so excited to be able to share my
daily makeup routine with you guys. Now, I will have to say I’m not some kind
of makeup guru or anything, but I do dabble in some makeup styling that is great
for just my everyday.
When I wake up in the mornings I usually start my skin care
routine. It’s crucial to have a good base to be able to apply makeup to. I use
an exfoliating facial sponge that you can find at most any drugstore and the 3-in-One Step cleanser by Vichy. Exfoliating is a very important step for me
because of some of the makeup I use. I
also use their Vichy Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Fortifying & Soothing 24Hr Hydrating Care
.
I then apply my
foundation, and this is where the exfoliating comes in. I use Etude House Precious Mineral Sun BB Cream
with SPF 50 (a Korean brand). If you have never used
BB cream you should give it a try. I prefer the Korean brands, because they
match my skin tone better, but many American brands have their versions now as
well. BB cream is a combination of SPF, moisturizer,
a primer and a foundation. I swear by
it, but you must exfoliate well, because it has a tendency to show dead skin. I
then seal everything with the Etude House BB Magic Mist
and Mineral
Wear talc—free correcting powder by Physicians Formula.
I then use a bronzer under my cheek bones. Ada Cosmetics has a nice loose bronzer that I
use in Golden. I then do the suck-in-cheek thing and put blush right on my
check bones, I use contouring blush by Covergirl in Refined Rose
.
I then use a contouring (I’m all about that) eye shadow by Almay
called Intense i-color. It goes by your eye color and has three shades to
use on your lid, crease, and brow bone. It takes all of the guess work out of
it. I brush a little of the lightest brow bone color in the corner of my eye as
well. It opens them up and makes them pop (or at least that’s what I’ve heard
the pros say). I line my eyes with Eyeko London Skinny liquid eyeliner in
Olive.
I then use CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume Blasting Mascara.
I like how the brush is shaped, and it really coats my top and bottom lashes without
a lot of clumps.
For everyday I usually use a lip gloss instead of any
lipstick, and right now I am using Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Sunset Peach
and
Dandelion by Benefit. Peach really goes well on darker skin tones.
And that’s it for my everyday look! It’s clean and natural
and that’s what I aim for. I also wanted to add how I take everything up a
notch to transform the look from day the night. I usually just make the crease
in my eye shadow a little more smokey and add a lip tint or lip stick. Here I
am using Tangerine in the Sephora + Pantone Universe
line, but I am also crazy
about Tony Moly lip tint in Red Apple.
When it comes to my hair I am not ashamed to say that I use
extensions. In my line of work, broadcast journalism, it is not industry
standard to have really long hair, so I use the same method as what was
previously featured on the blog and you can see it here. The one thing I would add
is that I use extensions with a coarser hair texture to match my natural hair.
I don’t go with the bone straight hair because, my hair is naturally curly and
it looks more natural that way.
Thanks for letting me share my everyday styling routine! xo. Aimee

I love the styling routine posts!
I will admit that I am one of those girls that never learned how to wear make up or "do" my hair in high school, it just wasn't something my friends and I cared for.
But now that I find myself entering the professional world it is a skill that women are expected to have, and although it's fun to experiment on my own, it is great to see real life styling routines that I can actually pull off and don't require like 40 different products!
Thanks ladies!
Also I love love that color in the last photo! So cute!

I am into the simplicity of the routine because who has time in the morning? I also use that mascara. I have tried so so many, in brand and price range and I always come back good ole drugstore lash blast.
