Breakfast at Gailey's

Trey and I have a ritual of getting breakfast most Saturdays, and one of our favorite local spots is Gailey's Breakfast Cafe. It's a cozy spot in downtown Springfield that I'm pretty sure started out as a pharmacy back in the 40s. The servers are the sweetest, I never see the bottom of my coffee cup, and they make some mean hashbrowns. It's a perfect background to just unwind our brains and talk.It seems like our Saturday conversations have shifted from immature jokes and work ideas to full-on wedding planning (!!!!). We finally got our date and venue booked. But what color should the bridesmaid dresses be? What kinds of desserts should be at the cake table? What about flowers, invites, drinks, and the list goes on. We have yet to send out save the dates. We're late. So the world is probably going to explode at any moment. But we're not letting wedding planning completely take over, as we've got a number of fun things going on. We're currently finishing up our first month of P90X (I hate it, but I love it). We have a few home projects planned, the next one involving tree stumps. And we've started a writing project together.

Sister Style: Diner Date

Hi there! This weekend has been filled with goals, lists and getting inspired. I've been feeling the mid-winter blues this week and sometimes I find that the best medicine is to start new projects! I have been listing just-for-fun activities that I want to try in a little notebook to carry everywhere. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them. :) 

This week we both wore outfits with tops layered under dresses. Have you tried it? Layers and pops of color are a few of our favorite ways to make winter outfits a little more fun.

Elle's Patisserie: Places We Love

Well, it's official! We found our favorite ice cream shop in the the whole world. We are obsessed with Elle's Patisserie on Cherry Street (in Springfield, Missouri). They have the most delicious homemade ice cream, croissants, truffles and spicy hot chocolate. We stopped in the other day for a little treat. It's always really hard to choose a flavor, but here's what we ordered: Lavender, Mint Chocolate Chip and Pecan Pumpkin Pie... yum! Emma was at home baking, so we ordered her some cute truffles to go. They had Halloween truffles this week. We thought they were too adorable, so we got one of each!

Homegrown Food: Places We Love

Today we want to share another local spot that we love, Homegrown food. Here you will find lots of yummy local foods that you can't find at a regular grocery store. We love that it's a one-stop for Askinosie chocolate, local jams and canned goods, fresh produce and locally brewed sodas and beers! Isn't it cute?
